LEC now hosted on TLF

Postby GeoffSmith » Sun 07.08.2011, 15:21

The 'maintenance' that took place in the early hours of this morning was in fact the transfer of the whole of the LEC site onto a server offered to us free of charge by Bibs on TheLotusForums.com which appears to have been seamless apart from the temporary loss of avatars.

Hopefully, the availability and speed of response of LEC will be improved and it is certainly cheaper than Dreamhost, so a big thank you to Bibs and the LEC IT boys for sorting this out.

Rest assured that LEC will remain independent and sponsor/advert free but any support for TLF (even if it is only 'liking' them on Facebook) will be appreciated.

Three cheers for the effort. I thought LEC seemed more responsive but had attributed it to perception only.

It's a fully dedicated, very well appointed server located on the fastest host in the UK, you'll notice it's very quick I hope and you're very welcome to the space and bandwidth guys.

You're just being transferred onto a very smart brand new server, Hex-Core chip and SSD drives! Might be 10 mins of disruption but we're using the old IP address still so everything should work just fine once it's swapped over :)

 LEC has been Chipped!

With the new Elysum server the car (sorry, Forum) responds snappier and with better throttle response!
Hurray for SSD and the guys who made the swap possible
