1992 BRG m100 for sale. 95k miles (SOLD)

Postby morciii » Tue 17.11.2015, 14:44

Hi everyone, sorry i havent been posting much recently.

At the weekend i had the shock arrival of a little baby boy so i think i will have to say goodbye to my beloved Elan. I absolutely love this car, but it would be impractical to keep at the moment.

Car is currently garaged, being used at least once a week.
95k miles approx
MOT until August 16, one advisory for slight play in wheel bearing.
Brittish racing green
Mazda RX8 heated seats fitted(not wired up)
Original seats included in the sale
Jamies magic A post seals
I also have a stereo with a small 3 inch screen fitted, aux usb dvd etc. can swap for the Pioneer stereo i got with the car though if you would preffer.
Apart from that all original, full service history, and previous owner to me was Andy J from this very forum, so has been very well looked after. Car had cam belt changed and a service on 9/2/16.

I am looking for around £4,500. I understand i wont get much interest at this time of year, and i plan to most pics and more info when i have the time. There are a few pics i have posted on this forum.

I have enjoyed my brief Lotus ownership, and hopefully i can own another Lotus one day.

Text me on 07542402958 or email liam.l.morcombe@outlook.com if you are interested. Thanks.

Sad to see you are selling up Liam :( , Congratulations on the new arrival though ;-) . I can vouch for the car, its a good example and Liam did his utmost to keep it that way in the time he has owned it. Regarding the seats, it looks a bit like from the way its worded that the seats are not wired at all, what he means is the heated element is not wired, I definitely wired the electric back/forward/up/down/lumbar when we fitted them. GLWTS, and get some pictures up! ;-) .

Congratulations on the wain, and pity your selling up. Just remember you don't need to own a Lotus to pop along to Bo'ness on a summers evening.

Should that not be "Wean", (Scottish term for a child for those not familiar with it), I'm sure a "wain" is an old farm cart like in the "Hay Wain" by Constable, or a trailer of some sort?, I dont think she has just given birth to one of those! :P .

Aye Liam dont be a stranger. Whats happening with the Talbot?.

Pretty much spot on FredJohn! I took my partner to hospital on Saturday night with back pain, which later turned out to be labour pains, turned out she had been in labour all day. He was about 10-12 weeks early, but he's doing very well at the moment!

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I do plan to make the Bo'Ness meets at some point and keep in touch.

I do also have the original Elan seats for sale with the car.

And as for the Talbot. Theres a few problems needing fixed before i could sell, Besides the Lotus would generate a bit more of a cash boost than the Talbot. I would maybe end up having to let both go in the near future and get an adults car :(

The top picture was somewhere on the isle of Mull. I decided to give the girlfriend a shot of driving the lotus, and after a drive around the winding country roads she pulled in so we could swap over, and just happened to pull in to one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. No idea what the name of the place was, it was south of Salen somewhere.
And aye that's on the north of loch earn, right on the edge of lochearnhead. A family member has a holiday home up there and I couldn't resist taking a drive up on a sunny day.

I have known this Elan for many years, from when it was owned by Inverness Andy, and latterly when it has been owned by Liam. In fact, I think I first came across this car about 12 years ago when Dave from Prestwick owned it and we met in South Queensferry and went to look over an M100 for another LEC'r. It has been well looked after and cared for by its past 3 owners during this time

So, if anyone's looking to jump on the ladder and get into Elan ownership I can recommend this Elan :burnout:

Mark, this isn't the BRG Elan that I sold to Andy J - I think he's still got that one.

This is my old Elan, pictured with Rambo at South Queensferry after viewing a scruffy S2.
