Thanks :D

It's a pity there is no SE model available — I mean a good looking one.

I got a cracking one off eBay too, came all the way from Latvia. BRG, S2 wheels and cream leather seats. I couldn't find any green SE's at all

There is / was ... I've got 2 Pacific Blue SE's (check the wheels) on my shelf that Shell were giving away if you bought lots of petrol at the time I had a Calapso Red/Pink one on the road so mid '90's I guess and prior to the S2. Ironic that I've got two full sized ones as well now...

pb se .jpg

Also got a Medina Green S2 model but grandson looked at it on shelf and pushed it back not realizing that wound it up - it shot off the shelf and landed upside down and the windscreen structure did nothing to protect the occupants, lucky there weren't any  I think that was another Shell give away, around the time they were also doing Ferrari models and those wheels look very like Ferrari Compomotive, not S2 BBS. Bolted rims on an S2, I think not!

Who wants an SE Model? - I think it's any colour you want as long as it's Pacific Blue... £5.30 and you could always paint it..

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shell-Sportscar-Collection-Lotus-Elan-/262310908314

or here... Description is wrong though - it's one supercar and an MG RV8. :-D

I believe that as well as the Pac Blue ones, they also did a few red and maybe yellow (but I may have imagined that bit!)...... but I've only ever seen/bought them in blue.....

....except for my Calypso Red one, and Empire Green one (curtesy of a spray gun)

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

I agree with yellow but I believe the 3rd colour was Medina (like Phil's one) not red. Strange choice of colour for a model considering Medina was an unusual colour & red was the most common.
The majority were blue though.
I have loads waiting to be resprayed but have not got around to doing them yet.

Thanks, actually I had already seen those SE models but as far as I can tell from the photos they don't seem so accurate (proportions, seats, etc).
I have never seen one though!

I think as far as 1/36 scale models go, they are quite accurate. Doors open but hinges are not to scale or they'd break easily, and seat backs move back & forth a bit. At least the driver's seat is on the RIGHT side :D , but they omitted the aerial as it would be too thick or snap off. I noticed the yellow one that started this thread has the drivers seat and aerial on the left so obviously not a UK model.

My photos (phone camera with flash) were not too good as the flash 'flattened' the image and it also changed the colour of Medina Green, making it bit too blue.
Thought I'd re-shoot by available light something more in keeping with my avatar :-D
