Does anyone have an alternative for replacement steering rack gaiters?
The multifit options from the local motor factors are a bit on the short side, there must be something similar from a mainstream model that would fit.

I am assuming you are rebuilding a LATER car: the bellows diameter at the rack is 46mm.
B100H6031S is still available from Lotus at around £8.25 (Lotus raised their prices yesterday and the new price book isn't out yet). SJs still show them at £7.79 (yesterday's price)
SJs shows the older version A100H6031S (52mm) as available but at £45.05

It is a 91 SE model I am rebuilding, I am almost sure the diameter of the rack is 52mm (battery has died on my vernier gauge).
Trying to avoid the set from SJ at over £50 if there is a suitable more cost effective option.

It is not the diameter of the rack, just where the two gaiters mount. The 1991 FED car is 46mm.

Gauranteed there will be something in the big yard Steven, if you find a pair that fits, in good enough condition to last a couple of years, and are 1 quid each, then its a no-brainer surely!.

Text me the inner and outer diameter and overall length and i will have a look for you if you want.
