Just a brief and +ve update. The welder only needed and wanted to do the o/s sill weld. The n/s had some areas of surface rust only so Chris Foulds is "rustproofing" that and the floor pan where necessary & I get the car back tomorrow afternoon. If anyone wants more info just let me know although I'm struggling to send attachments to the ELC member who has asked me for more info.

Hi. After paying the £700 (ouch) for the welding & cabin derusting, the car's back on Gumtree at £5,450 (ie + £200). If not sold it's going on Pistonheads next weekend. As with everything, price is negotiable but I won't accept silly offers. It now doesn't just look great & drive brilliantly but is known to be structurally sound. The welder did a "pretty" job and finished off by bonding around the weld for extra protection. Where only surface rust was present Foulds Motors cleaned up, painted and then bonded the cabin floor & sills. Photos of the pre and post condition are available but only hard copy in black & white I'm afraid.
