Can anyone advise what this is

Guys I am trying to identify the part below which Looks like it should have two pipes attached but doesn't on my car. This was mounted on the rear of the Air filter mounting bracket. It has a connection electrically but as you can see no pipework.

I have looked through the parts manual from cover to cover and can't see anything that looks like this so looking for the well educated LEC forum to help identify

Rob,

That is your wastegate actuator valve.

Do you have a MBC fitted?
That's the boost solenoid valve which controls the boost level and is itself controlled by the ECU.
As there are no pipes attached to it, this makes it sort of difficult for it to accomplish its aim in life.
I think you need to check your small-tubing plumbing to and from the turbo.

Thanks Guys,

I assume this is disconnected due to my Turbo being none standard and having a boost controller and a different Boost Gauge to standard then, the Boost Gauge Transducer is also disconnected as far as pipework is concerned.
I suppose I will continue to find anomalies as I go along and this is to expected when buying a car that is so none standard

Question now is do I take these standard parts off the car and store them some where safe, I can't think I will ever be returning the car to standard and adding lightness is the Lotus way

Sorry, I forgot you're different .
If you do leave the bits on the car, it would be good to put caps over the air pipes to stop crud getting in.

yeah buying a car that is different has and I am sure will continue to be a challenge. I still love it to pieces though, between the cursing and swearing that is

I assume taking them off the car and detatching from the electrics shouldn't cause any issues? Might be tomorrows job

They don't seem to be doing anything anymore, so you might as well do what you suggested and add lightness. Don't throw them away - they will be needed if you ever go back to normal.

The orange rubber covered one is for the boost gauge, by the way. I don't suppose you have a standard one of those either.

Unnecessary parts removed, the car has this system fitted, perhaps I need to read this manual and work out where all the tubing goes

After removing the aforementioned items took the car out and all good. Items will be stored in a safe place for future use if required.

A nightmare indeed Geoff, but having taken her out for a nice trip today and thrown her around a few country lanes with no issues I am once again happy with her...............for now.
