UPDATED with pictures - This is my Elan of 8 years, formerly owned by LEC member Muley before reaching me via another owner.
The decision to sell has been tough, I still love it, but now living in London I can neither use nor maintain her as I'd like to able to.
108K miles on the clock. I'm looking for £4000 ONO.
The car has lived outside and been used regularly during my ownership so while she’s not going to win a concourse event it’s a genuine and reliable car that’s taken me round Europe and still does the shopping - I've also been honest about the faults below as well as the features.
Features:
• Just passed MOT (March 2016)
• Alloys (original) fully refurbished this year + 2 brand new tyres.
• Piper stainless exhaust
• Everest chip
• Bob’s hubs & Hi-Spec front and rear brake conversion
• Classic Additions wind deflector
• I had the chassis/underside Dinitrol’d by Chassis Clean
• Good A post seals & windscreen
• Good hood
• Rain cover
• Electric windows, mirrors etc all working.
Over the years I've had other work done as needed such as a new water pump, timing belt etc by reputable garages including GST in Newmarket.
The niggles:
• Paintwork - stone chips galore at the front, blemishes & scuffs generally and an area to the rear deck/boot where the clear coat is coming off.
• (If you're looking for great paintwork, look elsewhere or consider a respray)
• I think there may be a loose earth connection to the radiator fans so once in a while they don't cut in though they've been fine on recent trips.
• Something (maybe the immobilizer) drains the battery if left connected when the weather is cold.
• The handbrake is useless - but aren't they all?
Photos below of the car from most angles. Everything such as the interior & engine bay is as you'd expect of a car this age that's been used regularly, but neither cosseted nor abused! She can still look stunning from some angles and across the street but the last few photos show close up the paintwork issues.
