when i was initially looking at an elan 10 years ago i went to look at one there, he would not let me test drive it he just took me out  so did not buy it it was overpriced anyway and poor paintwork i bought an elise instead from another dealer. I think he has a iffy reputation anyway :?:

With the S2 I thought the VIN no. should end with the limited edition no. So should end in 037 but ends with 008 :?:

Whilst most special edition numbers are the last 3 digits on the VIN, customers were able to request particular numbers as I understand it. Mine is number 493, requested by the original owner as it matched the number of Lotus F1 race entries, but my VIN ends in 417. I think number 417 has a VIN ending 493, so the numbers have been swapped.

hello
I have looked at the mileage on the service reports and it is very odd, it appears to have done around 100,000+ yet they are clearly advertising it as 59000 and pushing its low mileage and mint.
I was going to see the car but this has put me off , can they be trusted

Clearly not! ....though I have never had contact myself.

They have a very poor reputation amongst several of the Lotus Fora a with many threads alleging dodgy dealing and not taking responsibility - try doing a couple of searches. There was even an approach once to Alan Morgan to see why Club Lotus still allow such a prominent advert in the CL mag when so many members have had a poor experience - but he didn't want to act on "hearsay" so they still get the prime back cover slot which must do wonders for their apparent legitimacy. Caveat Emptor and all that.

No reason why it should be but is it KMS ? Would be very nearly right if so ?
What about the MOT search ? Should be more accurate than service records - do they match ?

I was going down to see a car there a few years ago and some negative comments on LEC made me think twice. It doesn't sound like much has improved ?
