I'm Back!

Postby Jeemy » Wed 13.07.2016, 15:19

Hello,

And first of all an apology.

I am aware I have become a bit of a Bob Brown on the forum.

I have actually got some genuine excuses, and some of the issues I had were quite serious. However this is not the place for that, its the place to sort out Lotus Elan M100 stuff.

I discussed some of my personal issues with Henk-Jan as it was relevant, but the fact of the matter is I have been s**t. I've got excuses, but looking from the outside, I can see that people would feel I could have dealt with stuff better, and of course I could have, but I'd challenge anybody to go through what I've gone through in the last 18 months and be still standing.

I'm not going to respond to the personal slights, I've read a couple and I am sure there are more buried in the forum.

I am simply going to try to make good on my promises and commitments. I'll be on here every day from now on. I hope thats satisfactory to everybody.

So - no excuses, no more difficulty getting hold of me - you will not get hold of me through my print company anymore, I am sending it completely online and I am now dealing with cars professionally and full time.

I am sitting in our new premises, its a terrible mess, and a lot of stuff is in storage, but I am sitting on parts for 35 sets of stainless steel wishbones, I have 2 hubs to send to Allan, and a replacement single hub to send out to Eddie/Christian Borchert, and 7 sets of wishbones for which deposits have been paid.

I also have thousands of new and very useful things for LEC members. Like, thousands.

Main non-money things are only as far as I know, to work out for the next run of hubs the compatibility issues for PNM rear brakes. I'll be picking up the hubs tonight and measuring them so we can discuss this properly. There will likely be other stuff I have been meant to be doing.

So please use this thread to ask or remind me about anything specific. I'll post up individually about all the other stuff - including my car which is miles on from the last thread update which must have been 18 months ago.

My new workshop's number is (oh) 1620 8 nine three, five 38.

I won't always be there as I am consolidating vehicles and parts from 3 other premises to the new place but thats the best way to get hold of me - there is no mobile reception in my county that is reliable so I am constantly juggling 3-4 mobiles and making a mess of it - so just forget mobile numbers. By the end of the month everything should be here and we'll be fully up and running.

I'm going to get into my PMs next, and am caught up to mid-June on my emails.

Apologies once more and I look forward to making it up to you all,

All best,

Jamie

Hi Jamie and welcome back hope everything is well with you.

I was wondering whether you have any hood seals available?

Realise it's not a priority in the scheme of things but let me
know - many thanks.

Trevor

Not really mate. I've got second-hand stuff, and can get new stuff it its available but only in the same way you guys can. I would certainly have 2 second-hand hood seals but condition is something I won't be able to ascertain until everything is moved to the new warehouse.

I've now appraised Dave Pink of my situation, and heard back from him, and thats the last I will say on it. If anybody has an issue that is not directly resolvable with me publicly, then Dave knows everything he needs to in order to be able to step in.

There is nothing sinister or anything to worry about, I've had some personal issues, I am getting over it.

Yep, as above - I have been in contact with Jamie, and am happy that the delays are purely an amalgamation of bad fortune (I don't use the wrod 'luck' intentionally).

I am equally happy that the items will be provided to anyone (forum members or otherwise) who has ordered them via his seperate business.

Any future orders will be made via his business and orders fulfilled the same way (they may or may not be offered via this forum, but that is a matter for him and not as a result of any wrongdoing or underhandedness in relation to his use of this medium).

I hope everyone will get the items they require in due course, and can see no reason to doubt that happening.
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?
