Hi everyone. Not sure weather any of you have fixed this problem yet, I also have had this problem for about 12 months now. I've taken it to an expert (yes I cracked). He has said its the manifold air pressure sensor, a very cheap part aswell. He had unplugged it and hey presto, she started up first time when hot. Today I'm going to get the part and hopefully this cures all. Will keep you informed. Finger and toes crossed. And before you say it, elanscan did not pick up a fault.

Just to chip in I've got new injectors, fuel regulator, temp sensor (to fan circuit, is this the one?), heat shielded the fuel pipes extensively and still an issue, further ideas?

That would be the wrong "sensor" the one that triggers the fans is technically a temperature switch. It does not tell the ECU the temperature of the coolant,

There are two sensors that you have not mentioned that maybe worth looking into one is the coolant temperature sensor and the other one is the air intake temperature sensor the air intake sensor is less likely to affect you. I would plug elanscan to the car while it's running and check the temperature sensor readings report back and find out what the readings are from someone else's car who's running fine
