I managed to meet a chap at a local show recently who said his son had purchased it ( not sure if it was from the factory) and used it for his daily drive for a few years.
Also at the same show was an ex employee who worked on all the S2 chassis, he was there in his white NA. I have a picture I will post up.

I would imagine its a guide price Clemo. But there would be nothing to stop someone who really wanted the car to leave a commission bid of £7k, £8k or more and that's where the auctioneer would start. It's an auctioneer's dream to have several CB's on the books as it means the car not only sells, but sells well as there is a lot of genuine interest

With no CB's he will go as low as he can to get interest going and then hope there is a lot of interest to drive it up and past the reserve. I suspect this car will have a high reserve because of its history, say £6k or even £7k ie if it doesn't achieve these prices on the day the vendor is protected due to his reserve and the car will be withdrawn for a better day

I did let Dave know on the 15th when they first listed it on a classic car site, not heard from him for a while though? He has been helping with the research on IB10 among other Zante cars registered by Lotus before this one.

Check-Mot says last MOT was March 2011 with mileage at 52,773 so doubt it's put much on since then. £7k for that history and still low mileage - somebody got a bargain. Rock Auto cambelt kit and away you go....

i was chatting to pinky about this car .
Its a piece of history alright and at 7k a steal i would say

BUT what can you do to it .. NOTHING .
I have E3LAN but i couldn't put it on this car ...
I wouldn't even be able to change the seat or door inserts for i would be driving a piece of history .
I would even feel bad for driving it as it would rack up the mileage

And as pinkster pointed out it probably has a stack of bespoke prototype parts on it so even changing warn out parts would not be original


Thats said at 7k ( if i had that spare ) to just get in and drive it would be pretty special .

hope the new owner pops up on here soon . `would really like to see it .

If you've bought it you can do anything you like to it... I hope you are not suggesting the original cambelt should still be on it !

F664 DNG was one of the development cars but I see no reason to stop 'developing it', Chapman never stood still.
I see Mark Hughes' says on Page 126 of 'the Bible' that F644 DNG is Number 601 RHD Uk Turbo WHITE Looks a bit silvery in the photo ...

The Lotus is presented in original condition and still retains its better quality leather interior, aluminium wheels and mohair hood.

Mohair hood?! I thought it was a synthetic fabric!
