Hi, yes I do live in the Uk but I'm in France a lot. I have a rhd m100 but would like a LHD m100 I could leave there to use as I rack up around 2000 miles travelling between the 2 countries and want to use the elan and its miles for fun driving and not just on motorways travelling to and fro. So if anyone knows of any left hand drive Elan's please let me know thanks all. Justin

There has been a sudden increase in Elan prices a few month ago, from an advertised price of around 11-14000€ to 16-20 000€.
But it's difficult to know the real selling price because they are so rare.
All I can say is that most stay for a long time unsold.
I believe the US ones are priced higher than before too (prices seen here), and even the UK prices seem to rise, doesn't it?

Know any F1 guys who could sneak it onto one of Bernie's planes coming back from Austin in October?

Still a lot of money for a very early SE with 49,500 miles. Mine was MOT'd today showing 49,501 miles and one of the last SE's but seems having the steering wheel on the right side is the wrong side when it comes to resale values.

I've never had a problem driving RHD cars on the right in Europe - my wife says I practice driving on the right over here too much anyway, but hired vehicles in the U.S. and found it strange having the vehicle sticking out to the right not the left, particularly when having to weave through multiple bouncing vehicles on the Capital Beltway trying to emulate a Nascar crash.

Actually all the UK cars are much cheaper than the LHD ones, not just the Elan.

Thanks for all your comments and advice. I find it easy driving in France with my rhd elan, I just don't like racking up 2000 miles a time on motorways. She's now at 74,500. By the way all,the B roads in France are perfect for the elan. It certainly gets noticed there although in the bit of rural France I'm in they wouldn't be impressed as you can't get much hay or livestock in it.
Yes LHD in France are horrendously expensive and they don't really care for rhd Elan's. A big thanks to all,regards Justin

Only problem I had with RHD in France was at the Tolls, pay machines only on the left so had to get out to pay, but the Sanef Liber-t tag has solved that and don't even have to stop in the new 30kph lanes...

Just wondering how you manage 2000 miles... Where are you in France?

I do Dunkerque Ferry terminal to Cap d'Agde and that's 700 miles. Last trip took just over 9hr, including 3 'splah & dash pitstops' but that's Péage most of the way so fuel & tolls work out quite pricey.

Problem with the Péage is it all looks very similar throughout France whereas the N roads have regional variations, follow the natural contours and take you through towns - much more enjoyable to drive but can't average 75 mph.

A few times I've decided to use N roads and had an enjoyable drive but then realized I'm not making quite the progress I need so end up back on the péage for a blast to catch up ... 'smile at the cameras' ...

Hi all. Thanks for your replies. The 2000 miles is from North Yorks to London to Folkestone. From Calais to Lands forest in S W France.......and back again. It works out at 15 hrs driving.
