Looks like I dodged a bullet. I apparently had a heart attack 4 weeks ago and the the left anterior descending artery blocked completely which is fatal half of the time. However, as it had been thinning for a few years, my heart had already grown a new one. Hopefully statins will cure the breathlessness. With my luck , I'll be doing the lottery tomorrow!

Very glad to hear you are OK, Geoff. What where the symptoms? At my age (just had a significant birthday) I need to know, particularly as the cardiologist told me last year that there were very early signs of thickening in one artery (I didn't know to ask which one).

Hey Geoff,
You didn't actually dodge the bullet, more like it went right through you and didn't hit anything that would instantly end in your demise. So, what you need to do now is get a full tune up, lubricate everything and keep doing whatever it is that makes you happy, because a happy life is a happy life (think that's what I heard! or something like that) but on a more sober note (hmm, wrong time of year ) I am glad that you drove right past it and repaired it yourself, and hope you have many more miles and smiles in the Elan
