Hi All

With a heavy heart, its time to move by beautiful Silk red SE Turbo to a new and loving home.
I've had this car for the past 9years and am the 3rd owner, (I personally know the 2 previous owners)
She is in great condition really one of the better ones in the country.

1992 K Reg, (last of the preCat)
85,500 miles
Silk Red (One of only 16 on the register to my knowledge)
Full Dark Gray leather (No silly coloured stripe) This was a factory fitted option.
S2 Wheels
S2 hood in perfect order
Pleco Stainless 2 1/2 inch exhaust
HiSpec front Disk and caliper upgrade
K & N air filter
Dave's Short shift fitted
Everest chip installed
Cam belt and water pump done May 16
serviced May 16
Just fitted a New original Lotus Leather Gear knob
Kia rear light conversion (Originals available)
4 tyres all good with lots of tread
Never been on track
Interior is stock Bar a sony stereo

I'd be pleasantly surprised if you got that. I've got an L reg SE (Dec 93) that's a bit more 'last' than yours with only 47k miles on it. Might need to revise my insurance value. .

Disappointed that some people's word is not their bond and back out of a sale that has been agreed because they get a better offer from elsewhere.

Hi think I need to clarify a couple of points;

1. No seller in their right minds would not respond to an offer of more than £1000 over the original offer, If it was a couple of hundred pounds then I would understand.

2. The person that made the original offer was given the opportunity to match the new offer but declined.

3. The second person was made aware that if their new was matched then the original person would have the car.

4. There was no deposit in place and was not discussed.


It was a very difficult dilemma, after seeking advice from family and friends in business, I am comfortable with how I handled this situation.

I am disappointed it has come to have to clarify this in an open forum.

My Elan keepership has come to an end, I'm please that over the last nearly 10 years of ownership, not only have I kept one of our beloved Elans on the road but it has left my hands in better shape than I got it.

Whoever has bought your car looks like they have got a very nice example .
If people are queuing to buy it than that can only speak volumes as to how you have cared for it over the many years ..

I know Gerry had a difficult decision to make. But it made him an offer, he countrered and, while i was thinking about it, he rang mw back and accepted my original offer as long as he could keep the original rear lights which, he said, he could sell for £800. So, in effect, there was only a couple of hundred pounds between the two offers and, when one is told that the seller has received a much larger offer when no one else was mentioned as bieing interested and they were picking up the car the next day, one is going to feel as though they are being hustled.

Anyway, that's life. No one was injured and the car has found a new home so all's well.
