I'm the new owner of Gee0's car.
This car was the first one I saw back in late September. Gerry and I got as far as discussing a price, then I remembered the advice seen so often on here and other places: "Don't buy the first one you see", so I didn't. It was then SORNed for the winter. I've been to see plenty since, some for sale by LEC members and some not, but I found myself drawn back to this one. It's not perfect by any means but has the potential to be a very nice example. I phoned Gerry on the off chance that it might still be available at the price we'd discussed, and events then unfolded as above.
Trevor: I'm sorry that you missed out on this one, but don't let it colour your view of these great cars or their owners. I hope you find what you're looking for soon.
The 3 hour drive home consisted of half an hour of drizzle, 2 hours of torrential rain, then snow for the last half-hour. I learned 2 things from this journey:
1. The A-Pillar seals work!
2. The heater inlet seal doesn't - leading to a very wet passenger foot well
I must say that whilst I was looking, LEC member's cars were almost always better than others I saw, and I owe a big thank you to all who put up with me during my search.
TTFN
Ron
