Front-end Bra.

Postby sheriff464 » Sun 19.02.2017, 20:57

Hello LEC'ers. Does anyone know if a front-end bra was manufactured for the M100? I suppose it is more of an American thing; but I would like to protect the front from stone chips this summer! Any leads as to where I might be able to purchase such an item would be much appreciated.

I have certainly never seen one.
All those I have seen on other cars have magnets to hold them in place, which will be ineffective on fibreglass.
What is available is armourfend, a thin sheet of self adhesive plastic which is thick enough to absorb small impacts but thin enough to be almost invisible. Surely this is a much nicer solution than a thick sheet of black across the front?

Always thought those bras look awful on any car and stone chips not so serious on grp body, just cosmetic damage easily rectified with touch up paint.
These folks have matched my Pacific Blue very well ....Lotus-Touch-Up-Paint
20ml pot with brush just under £11.

I've used them in the past before (many, many years ago) and would never recommend them. The biggest issue is the moisture that gets trapped under the bra which will discolour the paint over time (that's the voice of experience taking by the way). Much better to go with a star shield like clear film.
