Well, it's either an extremely great example, or he's a tad less than perfect in the eyesight department.... to say that nothing at Brands Hatch last year even came close is a hell of a statement to make - not that I'm putting my own car into that sort of bracket (although it did look good last year as it was the first outing since it's rebuild/repaint/retrim)...

.... I was thinking more along the lines of Trevors' Silk Red - which is most probably the best condition elan I've ever seen.

Oh Rambo i would love this but not at that price ( mods please note i am not discussing particular prices )
A car is only worth what someone will pay and this is a beautiful example . So people please don't confuse this and think I'm running it down .

But its somewhat out of my price range .
I have also noticed that quite a few cars have jumped on the " investment" statement but actually priced at the top end or hoping to break the ceiling price.

much like £1000's spent ... its 20 years old it should have 1000's spent .
Or rare .. They are all rare .
Don't even start me with OMG WOW .

its a very nice looking car and i hope the new owner will be very pleased with their investment .

I also bought all of that S2 burn out car ( minus chassis that went to TSWcowboy arron on here , the engine that was a molten lump and the tub ) though the tub is available and i will send the pictures up to Simon kurching as he could make use of the arse end for his ditched s2 .

in desperate need of an overdue by time "service" so leaving it in stafford till i get a rock autos order in for cam belt and pully ( have got a pump on the shelf somewhere) . The car is a bit tired cosmetically but mechanically it drives superb ... i remember saying that once before and then having to do a full engine rebuild but anyway .

2 owner car . Last guy for 17 years . Happy with my purchase . Will return it to its jim clark colours . Needed to get on and buy one rather than just talk about it . To many years run by just looking so got on and did it . Plenty of time to tinker and swap parts from the 26k burn out if i need to.

edit'd the above whilst you where writing this . But funny you should mention the yellow wheels . they where mine . I had an "empire green" ( insert pokey stick and await pinky to come along) that i painted the wheels on . A guy came and bough the s2 from me but hated the wheels .Sy was asking me about them . So a deal was brokered where the guy drove back home via Sys and they swapped wheels . At this point sy realised his tracking was to pot as he was almost through to the canvas on the inside edge ... but anyway those where mine and i still have the paint on the shelf somewhere ..

Metallic Green is a great colour for an Elan. (Not so sure about the yellow wheels, but I guess "in for a penny ..."). I suspect that Rambo remembers you giving Sy his wheels!

Now let's organise a get-together. (My nephew will be starting a job in Torquay in the summer).
