Wheeler Dealers w/o Edd China?

Postby donsladek » Tue 28.03.2017, 15:46

Just saw that Edd China is leaving the Wheeler Dealers TV show. Anyone know of the bloke replacing him? It seems like Velocity wants to lessen the role of the mechanic in the show - I hope it doesn't become another Velocity show with a bunch of drama between the characters  ...

His replacement is the "hands on guy" from the "for the love of cars" program so I would say a very good substitute 8)

:agree:
Ant would be great, but he will not get enough screen time. Less workshop time is why Edd chose to leave.

Ant is good, but I'm not sure why he would want to do wheeler dealers - He and Mike Brewer doesn't seem like a good fit.

Ex copper. Not very good amateur goalkeeper. Local boy. Bullshit springs to mind. Bodger when it comes to cars. All from a mate (or three) of mine.

Interesting comment Dave. Ant was the only reason I watched the Glennister show - because Philip didn't seem to know the first thing about...well anything really, his sole qualification was a masterful delivery of the line "fire up the Quattro". But what doesn't quite fit your description is how well their "finished" cars were not only lauded by various "experts" but also to the extent that they made record figures at the auction at the end. They cant have been that bodged....can they?

But I do agree that he wont be a good fit with Brewer - who is all bluster and bodge, anything for a cheap turn around, not really what the public persona of Anstead is supposed to be about.

Car SOS - just seems very false, the 3 week deadline is just b*llocks. No way could you rebuild cars like they do in that time. The moment they are just about to give it back and drive it around the corner and the jets in the carbs all of a sudden block up  Fuzz to the rescue with no tools available.......saves the day.

And nobody ever recognises the tall bloke when he pretends to work at wherever they are presenting the car.......

I know its made for TV but just spoils it a bit as its a load of manufactured b*llocks.

Well, that's sad news. Edd C was the only reason to watch Wheeler Dealers. Mike Brewer seems like one of those guys who sits next to you at the pub then won't shut up. I certainly would never buy a used car from that man!

He's quite entertaining when you see him live ie at Silverstone. Jim (Muley) and myself were going to bend his ear on the M100 last year but we couldn't get a word in edgeways

Bit of a cockney geezer, wide boy with an answer for everything but also entertaining and funny provided you take it all with a pinch of salt.

PS I'd sit next to him in a pub if he bought me a pint

Feel EXACTLY the same way. Mike always looks like he needs a shower, too. Edd was the show. The rest was total TV fakery.

filming in California??? I can't wait. I'm sure the first project with be a BMW Z3. Beaters are cheap as chips, they clean up nicely and there's tonnes of hairdressers to buy them... present company included.
