Coolant leek.

Can any one tell me what the thing is under the NS head light pod please. See photo. I recently noted it hissing after a run out and then the next day there was a small pool of coolant on the floor.

Its the rad air bleed valve you may need a new seal

It's where you bleed the coolant system, has something just become loose hence the leak

on a similar vein ... or probably 'vain' to the youngsters ... I read on an MX5 forum lots of discussion about 'instability under breaking for a corner" ... and I thought that was a trait of old Lotus cars ...

Intersterstingly mine looked nothing like the photo above. Mine was a small insert about the width of a pencil. It was a struggle to remove because the head was smooth but once removed I replaced it with a bolt as a temp fix.

Sounds as though the head had snapped off.

And if this happens in the middle of nowhere a wheel bolt will do the trick and get you home!
