another m100 hardtop question

I have always fancied a M100 but am not a fan of soft tops so would only consider one if I could source a hardtop which leads me to ask has any progress been made in locating a supplier for these
I'm hoping that all the people searching for one over the years I have maybe got together and commissioned a manufacturer or a company/individual to modify the MGF one

Someone that fiddles with the kitty has been playing shenanigans regarding the moderator umlaut status .

The problem with shenanigans is sometimes it takes a while to undo the spell .

I believe that the moulds for the Simon Carrier designed hardtop still exist. Last thing I heard, they were in storage on Skye.

Simon is pretty much residing in Norway for now .
The days of the fantastic hardtop were limited to those who stumped up the cash . Many did . A few didn't . And as per usual the few who didn't dragged down the efforts and hard work put in by Simon .

If you can find one for sale then snap it up .

I have one of the rarest of the rare.......
and Im still willing to sell.......
its a Carbon Fibre Hardtop.......so can be shifted by one person quite easily.....
the glass fibre roof is a little more tricky

As far as i remember ... back in the times of old .
There were a few now grey haired LEC members sitting around a table having a curry .

To the left of me was (spc) Simon to the right of me was others in awe of what was unfolding.
A conversation ensued about a hardtop .
Only one person at the table had access to the world rally motorsport programme wind tunnel.

After much applied beer one person penned in a hardtop on the back of a beer mat.
The other 11 drunken people round the table declared in and within days the M100 was in the wind tunnel and on the cad design table.

Days later we were asked to put our money where our mouths were.
All of those did. And now what you have is a very limited edition run of SPC hardtops.

From what i remember 12 hardtops were made 2 of which were carbon fibre .. others may correct me as we had drunk a few.

Please don't confuse this with the NTC round window version of the early 90's hardtop that never came to fruition.

I put my money where my mouth was in 2003 at the price of £1500. This was an unpainted grey flocked version . I don't know who has it now as i sold it. But i now have another which i bought a few days ago.This had a dirty headlining rather than a flocked headline and needs respraying. It cost me £1500 . So if you want one understand how it came about and then understand that what you are after is a ridiculously limited edition run that will not be done ever again.

If you want one go get it .You will not lose money one it and it will keep you dry.

Now what happened to the CAD models? Are they around? Because i would understand it perfectly if they are the intellectual property of the one who generated them

Bit longer ago - It was 2004- 2005 that conception and production took place..Hardtop thread.
Mine was a one-off made for me by Simon in March 2007 & my post on Page 27 of that thread explains why NTC never got their act together ..

I do think it might be worth trying to get someone with 'skills' ....and probably more time to spare......to take ownership of these...........
