Steering Geometry

I have booked the car in for a steering geometry check and am trying to find the correct specification - caster/camber numbers etc - does anyone know these?

I'm fairly sure they are stated in the back of the grey owners handbook/service record

All the measurements are in the main WSM.

HOWEVER if you are having it done on a decent electronic/laser all singing all dancing full 4 wheel device, the device's database will have the relevant numbers for the M100 Elan already in it.

And the adjustment is done until the arrow is in the correct tolerance. You'll get a print-off of the before and after showing all the measurements and you can see how much it was adjusted. Note that the front camber requires special shims usually only available from/at a Lotus specialist. Similarly the front castor shims should number 8 in total on both sides of the car and these are placed in between the upper wishbones/ball joint, forwards or backwards of the ball joint as required, but always 8 in total.

I've just had mine done by Paul Matty and it is now perfectly set up.

Be sure to have all 4 corners set up, as camber/toe in/out are adjustable at the rear as well. If any adjustment needed is greater than the amount of adjustment available, then the holes/slots in the chassis or wishbones will need to be moved and re-welded. (as mine were!!)

IIRC, the garage I used had Hunter Hawkeye equipment, and that had the M100 already in its database
