Sorry to be a nuisance, but my account locked me out when I tried to change my e-mail address and I wasn't allowed to post in the non-member area
Could someone please assist?

Geoff,
I think maybe the moderators have already been assisting and have now assigned you the final member status they decided.

Hi, while trying to sell an Elan on eBay I received this message:
"Apologies for the email through ebay.
I purchased an Elan M100 SE Turbo about 4 months ago and have been trying to join the forum since then. I saw the forum thread with the email address. I tried this and got no reply. I also sent an email to the elanscan site address. Again, no reply. Can you please help? as I seem to be spending most nights on it and would love to join. Perhaps someone one the forum will know the car. British racing green H588 XYL. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scott"
1: Can anyone help give this gentleman access please?
2: I'm sure that registration number rings a bell - anyone else know of it?

Creating a new login and activating it works for me.
Can't see what problem might exist.

I've approved the above account - just to ensure that full access is now granted.

It was the super-tricky question that did it!
After providing the answer, I got the following:
wowza!
Straight in

You need to change the question. No new Lotus owner will ever know the answer. I'm positive you will be losing at lot of potential new members.
The question should be .... "What is Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman's initials?"
I suppose it's something that could be taken on board - or maybe even provide a hint like "look in the middle of your badge"!

I heard it was cunningly designed to preclude people who cannot search, albeit a bit late in the day.

Surely the question should be "What are Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman's initials?"

I agree, it should. Repeated word for word.

Welcome and good to have you aboard Geoff!
Can I interest you in an Elan-scan cable?
