Hot start issue

Kermit doesn't like to start when hot, you have to hold the key for3/4 seconds before she roars into life.
Starts fine from cold immediately.

Whats the normal candidates to check for ?

This can be fairly normal in some M100s but not others. I think it's due to fuel vaporization when hot ?

Does the exhaust smell very rich for a few seconds on a hot start, once it gets going? Mine did.

Restart the engine immediately and it started fine. Leave it more than 40 mins and it started fine. Anything in between, I had to crank it for up to 5 seconds before it would start.

My theory was that the injectors were leaking when the system was left under pressure, causing fuel to accumulate and making the mixture far too rich. On a hot start you'd have to crank it to clear the fuel through the exhaust before she'll start. Once the car sits for a while the pressure drops, the leak stops and the fuel dissipates, and then she starts fine.

Just a theory.

However, I found this was resolved for me when I replaced the fpr and got the injectors refurbished.

Mine had the same problem.
It was cured when I replaced the injectors.

There is a good guide on the wiki.
Even though one of the originals was faulty & prevented me from driving the car, I was a bit nervous about doing mine because I thought it was going to be quite an awkward job. Some bits were a little fiddly but I completed it in 90 minutes without rushing.
