Does anybody know if the throttle cable from another car or is it unique to the Elan M100

I think you know what the answer was going to be ...
Even the left-hand drive cables are different from the right-hand drive ones. Oh, and they’re supposed to be a right sod to change.
Hence why ashm had a plan about 8 years ago, but sadly it never came to fruition (real life got in the way, I think). For moral support see posts like this:

Well, "real life" in the form of a jag ploughing into my elan from the offside rear and writing it off. I believe phil probably still has the original prototype cable.
Having spent several years getting that elan set up just right, I was then back to square one and my new elan still has a long way to go before it'll be back at the point where the throttle cable is top of the list

Wow! Sorry to hear that was the reason. I hope you weren’t in it at the time.

Yeah, I ended up with three injured vertebrae as it spun me around, but other than that the car took pretty good care of me.
The injury took me out of the running for the Delhi Commonwealth Games, which was pretty gutting as at the time I was making the cut. Looking back I'm probably more upset that I lost the Elan though.

ashm,
What an absolutely horrible train of events. I missed that story at the time. Sorry to drag up old memories.
