Old style or the newer one ... i do quite like the newer one .. don't really know much about the van one .

Never driven one but like the shape of the new one, and it strikes me as fun. I had a good look at one parked at CC last year, but sadly the owner was nowhere to be seen

on the new Europa. Was thinking about one for business use instead of the M100. Lotus based it on the VX220 tub for the longer wheelbase and the 1998cc turbo engine, as in the Astra, and the M32 6 speed gearbox, as in the Astra.
Gearbox might be the 'achilles heel' as they seem to last about 120,000 miles in the Astra - then bearings start screaming. Didn't last as long as the clutch plate on my son's Astra with same engine and gearbox - but it's a nice power unit when it's working.

Europa didn't sell very well and Roger Becker got hold of it and revamped it as the SE with more boost, better tyres and dropping the 0-60 time from 5.8 to 4.9... ... and the gearbox life to 80,000 miles ???

I didn’t know about the gearbox woes I was idly looking at this one, which WillB is selling at the moment. Wouldn’t chooose silver though; they did a nice blue colour which I prefer, though there are so few about that beggars can’t be choosers.
