The picture is a library picture so no good, can't see the reg plate anyway. Can anybody work it out from the chassis number ?

The rear lights are FED spec: all red lenses (except backup and fog) as compared to the UK with a big yellow lense

It probably means they lost the original and bought a duplicate service book that was stamped in 1994 with the correct service details

How does one get all the original stamps in the book if lost?

This would only really be possible if 1 garaged supplied PDI'd and serviced the car from new.
Or a lot of effort was put into sending the book back to all the garages that had serviced it and only then i guess that would be possible with all the paperwork in exemplory order to show where and when this had been done ( and hoping that all the garages are still trading under the same name )

If any of the above is the case then why not show this service book as a sales point ?

Could be possible. Car was registered in 1992. Possibly the original owner lost/misplaced the original logbook c1994. Applied to Hethel or via his dealership for a replacement log book then got it stamped up retrospectively as they would have had all the service details (possibly only 2 or 3 anyway ?) on their Amstrad

Did anyone get the correct reg? I destroyed a yellow '92 SE in '94 and was later contacted by someone who had bought the salvage and was trying to recreate the service history - the handbook having gone to the insurance company and I guess not sold on. J152 VJB.

It was written off as I broke (among other things) front clam, rear clam, front suspension, rear suspension, radiator, oil cooler, at least one rear light unit, bent one chassis on a tree (and then the opposite bank) near Deepcut in Surrey. (See avatar to the left)

I was contacted out of the blue and was so taken aback that the car was going back on the road - with a recreated service history - I think I was not very helpful to the gentleman.

Dont think its the same car as yours mate, despite the private plate. Yours was registered 23/04/92. The one at auction on 06/02/92. Yours is now a Cat N, but interestingly doesn't show up when you try and look up MOT history.

B Can’t be repaired: Body shell has to be crushed, but you can salvage other parts from it
C Can be repaired, but it would cost more than the vehicle’s worth: You can use the vehicle again if it’s repaired to a roadworthy condition
