The transport from Colorado arrived today with the green M100. It is a basket case. The missing driver's and back window let a significant amount of the past week's storm water into the cabin. I knew it was going to happen and the car has been sitting outside for some time. No shock that the car was going to have water concerns when it arrived. The good news was that after almost a week of travel the car still started. A tremendous amount of thanks to the seller for getting the car running so it could be transported easier.
I am sure the other Lotus in the garage are looking at this poor thing and wondering what is going to happen to it. For now the fans and dehumidifier are going to dry it out first. If our other M100 needs a part this will be a organ donor. Maybe it a distant future could I consider the extreme cost of restoring this car. It needs such a long list of parts and work that it goes far over the value of the car. After the car dries out I will get it on the lift and see what the underside looks like. The quick look shows the suspension has very little rust.
No sticker in the door area to show the month it was built. The vin number is later than ours.
Our storage building has plenty of room for this car to sit and wait what the future holds for it.

Why didn't you/the seller Gaffer tape some strong plastic sheet over the drivers side and rear hood area to protect the car from the elements ?

Anyway, what's done is done now. I would suggest removing the seats, carpets, door cards etc... rather than trying to dry them in situ. It will be easier, quicker and then allow you to inspect the sills/outriggers etc... at the same time
Good luck

Thispage from Golden Gate may help you to establish which month it was built....

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?
