It had a bent front lower left control arm (and worn bushes), they show it afterwards.
On the other hand I would love to know where they source their cam angle sensor from (they tell it's about $106, and I thought it was more like £400!? But maybe I am wrong?)

There were a lot of errors. Wishbones don't come with bushes, you don't set timing without going into test mode, the front pipe of the CAT WAS squeezed by Lotus because it had too much flow and it caused over-boost.

They are highly collectable? News to me.

And he did not bleed the air from the system via the bleed screw under the head lamp.

I don’t think USA & Canada models have a bleed screw there as the front crash structure and radiator mounting and hoses are different.

But what we’re all forgetting is that Wheeler Dealers is a television programme. It is made for “entertainment”. I once tried to dissuade a young lady from appearring on a television dating programme by pointing out that they were not altruists who were looking to find her perfect man, but were more likely to match her with a one-legged dwarf with halitosis just so that they could record her reaction for the amusent of the viewing public.

The US / FED car DOES NOT have a bleed screw or plug. The radiator is mounted diagonally toward the engine and the hole doesn't line up. The hoses and other bits of the front structure are indeed different.

After watching the show I sent it to my sister in Nevada who has been in my Elan and the fire valley , then I sent it to my pal who I’m trying to talk out of buying a classic MGB .
I thought it was a great tv show, not reality like the YouTube repair videos !
I’ll watch it again tomorrow

Wallow? try flinging an Aston Martin round a nice swoopy bit that you know, having done it with ease in much less expensive cars - with ease - and you will know what 'wallow' is.

Any car featured on Wheeler Dealers seems to pump up the values of those car through the broad exposure.

But Mike did seem to buy this one cheap for the few things wrong with it, so that might not help values.

Think overall this was a very good show on and for the Elan. Entertainment biased yes, but great to see the Elan driven on some wonderful roads. For me it captured the essence of what Elan
ownership is about - open top fun.
