Now call me old fashioned, but when I copy and paste my entire car advert from a review in the motoring press, I would tend to remove the bits that refer to the interior of the car as looking like a "dungeon" having a "rear blind spot" that affects your confidence and "dismal luggage space" (I'd also make sure that the author knew what he was on about and didn't claim that the S2 had ABS)...

I don't see any of the aforementioned by clicking on your link. Am I missing something ?

I think the seats look quite good, nicely sheened tyres, not a lot else one can say .

I like the seats a lot but there is a bit too much orange everywhere else for my liking ie steering wheel, gearstick gaitor, centre console etc..., but each to their own. And if you are going to that level of orange, why not orange door clips and fun boy 3 dials, speedo, hazard switch etc....

I don't like the double Stripey stripes on the exterior. But, hey ho, it's not my baby - it's somebody else's pride and joy

That's Paul Smith's old Elan. He has not been on here for ages but we are both members of the same cycling group, so I see him occasionally.
He got rid of it simply because he didn't use it enough & felt that it deserved to be driven more.
It is one of the newer S2s which has tighter emission requirements in its MOT.

The poor wee car. Only 10,000 miles in 29 years! That’s not what it was built for. Mine is a year younger and I consider it to be low mileage but it’s done about 3,000 miles per year.

I would be very wary of buying something like this and would factor in a humungous service.

Thanks for the link to the dealer. It it a shame. It hasn't really proven to be a big earner has it! If this had come up when I was looking last year I think I may have jumped at it. Nice seeing a mint interior. I wouldn't feel guilty at all adding 3k miles a year

It always annoys me when they say FSH and then you go onto read it's had 5 services in 29 years. So servicing schedule is every 6,000 mile or every 6 years.

It was on inspection a lovely car and very well presented.

Now sold and you will be surprised where it will turn up together with a very very nice Elise.

I just heard from my insurer that my lovely turquoise Lotus Elan S2 (nr 208) will not be repaired, as uneconomical, so they are putting category N on it. My local garage in London quoted a price of £6000 to repair it. I think after many years it is time for me to say goodbye to the car in one way or another. However, I feel bad if it simply will be used for spare cars as was a joy to drive, and is quite clearly repairable. My insurer lets me buy it for £2532 so if anyone is interested in taking this one they can have it for a price above it. I live in London NW3 and happy to show it to anyone, but this is not going to be advertised on any website. Condition of car was probably below average (window rubber not good and small tear in roof), although it has been well maintained, I have a service record book and LOW MILEAGE at about 52,000 miles. What exactly is wrong with the car that will cost that much? Why is your insurance involved? If someone hit you, then their insurance would be repairing it.

A description and / or pictures will make it easier to get someone interested in it.

If it was in the US, I would be interested, but transporting it across the ocean makes it unrealistic.
