Buyer beware for sure. It may well be a plate change , but if not then this is information could save someone a lot of aggravation.

Car disappeared. Would you buy a car from ' Norwich Budget Car Sales' anyway ?!

The price of it tells you everything you need to know, if it was a genuine 27k car would anyone here be advertising it at less than 10k if it was yours ?,
nope, me neither. Zoom in on the pictures, the word used commonly in this area to describe that thing is ' a shagger ' :D , check the panel gaps on the
front end, check the rust in the engine bay  , overspray everywhere. (hoses in the engine bay, hood frame at the base of the B post, even the
mesh on the back bumper is sprayed), check the nick of the weatherstrip and the strip along the top of the door card, and that's only the things
apparent from a half dozen pictures, imagine getting it up on the ramp and having a look for real!, I bet the underside has more crust than Hovis.

Engine bay, seats etc... do not stack up with 27k miles. I suspect 127k is nearer the mark. Of course, the speedo could have been replaced at sometime in its life ??

It's had a hard shift at the coalface anyway

I would expect a genuine 27k car to be heading north of £12-15k these days. And there to be a fully documented history and a logbook with dealers stamps. Naturally, it has neither :?

2011 to 2017 it was parked in my drive SORN. Definitely my car, blue foam instead of perished grommet on intercooler pipe. Void showing on VIN label wher I mistakenly washed it. and small screw holes on top of the rear number plate carrier where I had the original style cover fixed. It has been renovated somewhat with re-colouring to seats, front bumper looks a bit better but the shut line is still too large. It is my same car (and Cat D)

So, it was parked in your drive and SORN'd from 2011-2017. MOT history for that period shows 27108 - 27216 miles during this period, MOT to MOT. So how come you say that car was sold with 127,000 miles on the clock?

I can't work it out :smt017 Have you, or did they, change the speedo ??

The speedo never recorded the correct milage in all the time I had the car. it must have been replaced at some time previous to my ownership. I bought it in 2005 with the front clam shell in undercoat grey after someone previously had carried out the repair, OK superficially but rough in the OS light recess. I renovated it and had it resprayed but blew up the original engine because a big end seized. I then purchased a Cat C car (H10 TVS) which had to be dismantled and I used the engine and gearbox from that. It had 104000 milage on that car when i used the engine.

I decided to sell the car for spares or repair in 2017 because I obtained my current M100 with 56000 mileage and full service history. I did not have the time to get the first car through an MOT, to remove the no plate so i sold it with the car.

but in 2005 the mileage was recorded at 5k........
what was it then?....and why did the mot station get it wrong?......and get it wrong every year you had it?.......
but the miles still went up?

I just still trying to get my head round the when it all went adrift........

just looks like its always been wrong.........

must have been swapped over before you had it?.....but cant have been......someone somewhere has lost 100k mile........

No it is all quite simple really. The original car H***PPU (can't remember the numbers) was Cat D after an accident in about 2003. A young chap in Wales was going to repair it but he ran out of steam. I purchased it partly repaired with the front in grey filler paint. From memory it had about 5500 miles on the clock but viewing its condition with 7 previous owners I discounted the mileage as incorrect and estimated it had probaly done about 105500 judging by the condition of all parts. When I renovated it i purchased a "LOTUS" no plate H16 LTS or HIS LTS. the change of plate must have confused the MOT system into thinking the mileage was in fact 5500.

The replacement engine with 104000 miles on it, went into the car at about 10000 (or 110000 corrected) so with the 20000 or so miles I put onto the car between 2005 and 2011 it would account for a true mileage of 127000 (estimated only)

So, you're saying that the young chap in Wales had wound the clock back by about 100,000 miles before you bought the car ?

It is also safe to say that many parts on it are from the donor car (H10 TVS) which had a presumanbly accurate mileage recorded at 104000 when dismantled

Not necessarily wound the clock back. I have no idea what replacements were made previous to my ownership. It is most likely that it had a replacement speedo at some time.

Winding back a speedo on a 15 year old well used car with 7 previous owners, to only 5500 miles, would be rather a futile exercise.

Only flaw in that argument is that no unscrupulous person made a few grand on the sales. I bought the project from Wales in 2005 for £3.2K which was rock bottom price for any M100 at the time and sold it as spares or repair with number plate in 2017 for £1800, both sales were on Ebay. The only person trying to make a few grand out of the MOT confusion is the garage forecourt which now has it priced at £6.5K and incidentally says it is not Cat D.
