Hi David
You've done a huge amount of work on this and so I'm really sorry I'm going to have to pull out. Showing real ignorance on my part but I had no idea that they would be quite so expensive.
I do tend to buy spares for my other lotus cars just in case I might need them but at over 10% of the cost of the car I can't really justify it.
Apologies

Hi David,
Unfortunately I too am sorry and didn’t realise the cost of these items and am unable to justify the expense to have as spares.
Thank you for taking the effort in sourcing a supplier and the work you’ve done.
Apologies again
Regards

Dear David, Thank you for your message regarding the rear light covers. Indeed I had not followed the proces of ongoing matters.
I have high regards for you effords of getting this far in the remanufacture of these difficult to trace parts.
After reading all the previous pages I understand that the cost will be around 600 GBP for a set including shipping.
And that they will not be produced by the injection molding system but by vacuum forming.
Because I already have got some good used rear lights in stock, new ones on the car (the last in Europe) and the high price of the new remanufactured,
I think that it would be a better decision not to procede in this group buy.
I am very sorry for making this decision, as this is not helping anybody forward in getting the numbers up to the 15 sets, or higher

Hello Everyone
To Barrie (Essex), Ian (Quantum), Hans (Hans M), Simon P, and Franck (Lululu37) : Fully understand and respect your position. It was never an obligation. Cost was however well explained from the start. Hans, I don't know where you get 600 GBP from! It does not cost 120 GBP to post off. I've just ordered a 6kg item from Holland and it'll cost 9€50 to ship to me here in France.
Request for 1 unit (RH) received from Wayne (05/05). Thank you.

Although we appear to have our initial minimum of 15 (just!!), perhaps it would be a good idea to await the decision of those members who still figure in "the former list of interested parties" and also to await the possibility of further potential orders following the forthcoming Castle Combe meet up at the end of this month. Anyone in disagreement is welcome to voice their opinion.
I just want to add that I personally was convinced that all my explanations were clear and that no doubt subsisted regarding the cost of these articles which I do concede is expensive.
Regards
David

Hi David,
Thanks for the reminder, i forgot to follow the thread!
I'm still in... and i put a new reminder on the private forum of the Club Lotus France (many of us came here to take part... at least missing "Miller" in the first list: many many thanks for all your efforts!).
Last thing: i'm not that far from you (around 1hour trip), so if you're ok, i'd be glad to come and grab the covers... and talk about our M100s!

Hi, David,
Sorry, I'm out. If the cost + shipping would have been less that $500 USD, I would have been in, but can't afford to invest more in spares at the present time. My present lenses are good.
BTW - how much is the VAT on a set?
Thanks for taking this on, and best of luck in getting 15 sets.

Don Hi
Thanks for your reply.
The cost for a pair of the rear light covers is 480 Euros inclusive of tax i.e. VAT included, to which shipping/postage costs are to be added. I haven't yet dealt with this aspect at this stage. Perhaps you've an idea of the cost for sending to America!
Thanks for your support anyway.
David

Dave (Clemo)
Hello. See my reply to Don Sladek re cost for a pair. The price of 480€ includes VAT. As stated, haven't gone into postage/packaging yet, so I can't give you a definite final figure, but for the UK Jonathan (Saltire) quite rightly proposed the possibility of a courier dispatch to a UK location for subsequent delivery via a so-called "LEC postage system" which apparently exists. Perhaps you could shed some light on this and even propose someone to accept the shipment of the parts intended for UK members. This would most probably work out cheaper than sending individual parcels.
At your disposal for additional info if required.

And you'd be able to claim the VAT back Don making them approx. €96 cheaper

Thank you for your clarification. These are 480 Euros per pair . Postage to be added .
The LEC postage system is a thing .
Can i ask are you going to see an pre production example prior to the full run ?
