Hello from Quebec, Canada , Not new on LEC or to Lotus cars

Hi everyone,

I just bought a Lotus Elan from USA. The car was located in Sag Habor, Long Island, NY. It's now going to get to my home here in Quebec, Canada.

Now as a bit of history with me and these cars... I have been working on Lotus Elan M100 here and there as I've done maintenance and/or a few modifications to owners arround here. I've been referred by other individuals as I've been working on the Isuzu engine for a while now... I've owned several Isuzu and I've been taking cares of the local Isuzu enthousiasts car club localy.

I'd probably get a bit more active arround as I'll be working on my own Elan now. I've already got in touch with nice people here and looking foward to share the passion with everyone and well, I can't probably help others as well

That said, I've got a calypso red with 56k miles on it :

Thank you for your welcome message, it's really appreciated ! As for the road trip, I would have liked to go get her back home, however it's a friend located in US that went to pick up the car ! Yeah, I'm really lucky to have such a friend !

Thank you all, I'll make sure to post more photos once the car get home as for now it's still in USA waiting to be picked up by me later this week. Hopefuly I won't have any issues with customs.

And the car looks good but not in a perfect condition, but well that's part of the game !

Kind of familiar to me yes. I've been working on this drivetrain for years... and not my first Elan that I work on. My first that I own.

Inspection's passed ! I can finally drive the car on the road.

Still a lot to do to get it to the point I want, but at least the process to get it back on the road after importing the car from US is now completed !

Yes, the real fun start for sure.

A lof of challenges in getting the car in really good condition... I like the car, I hate the poor design/assembly of everything related with the DASH. All these brackets that are glued on the foam within the dash... it's just so often getting appart... It's also hard to have a perfect fit with all of this. Ok... yes I'll be looking after this
