Recent ?? I'd call recent within the last 5 years, assuming lowish mileage

You missed my point. Recent should be last couple of years, because if the belt was changed 4-5 years ago, it's due again. Lots of Elans are put up for sale with belts over 10 years old by sellers trying to convince buyers they know better than the people that designed the engine that it doesn't need to be done because it's under the mileage limit.

Whilst your car looks very nice and you can directly vouch for it on here . Be careful with it hanging around on ebay and keep on re advertising that it doesn't fall into the "why is it back again " category . if you know what price you want stick it on a fixed price with best offer . The repeat auction puts people off after a few goes .

Wish I would have seen the car on here 1st as I paid quite a bit more :/ But there you go.
Only had it since Thursday, really like the car, come with stacks of bills and history. Had to put a new battery on after half a day and stuck at a petrol station! Ordered new front and rear plates, given a really good clean, booked in to have the wheels re conditioned a service and will look at having the cam belt done after my holidays. Any Ideas on what I should be paying for a cambelt change? Couple of splits in the seats so will get them looked at. Drives and pulls really well, credit to the last owner.

I think it's about a 400 quid job on average to include parts and VAT. Could go 100 quid either way depending on who you know/trust.

I sold my Collapso red Elan within 56 mins from placing the initial ad. on LEC

And then the buyer sold it again approx 3 weeks later having spent £2k on a leather seat refurb.

I think that record still stands G ?

Unfortunately things have changed in which I don't have/want to go into.

The car won't get used much at all now so not much point me holding on to something im not going to use if someone else can enjoy. If I was offered what I paid for it then I would take it with all the spares I have bought, im not here to just to make money from a quick turn-around, not that I should be bothered what people think but I know how people think! If I get more then it will help out but as i've said it can go for what I paid.

Thank you to the members who have been kind enough to help with the questions i have had. If it does not sell its fine to go and live in my dads garage for as long as it needs to.
