You'll need that at home. We don't have enough power generating capacity to keep the lights on let alone power EVs (which are only green if you live in a city). We needed to build several nuclear power stations about 10 years ago, but currently can't borrow enough money from the Chinese in order to pay the French to build them for us. Before we joined the EU we lead the world in Nuclear power technology is that just coincidence that we are now reliant on the French?

Nope. Was Thatcher's Govt that privatised the Electricity Generation & Distribution Companies in the mid 80's that messed it up - 'The City' got cold feet over nuclear decommissioning costs so Nuclear was never sold off but run down under Govt control. We have a DC link from France and the Netherlands but only seem to import power.. they must have a diode at their end... Useful info here ...gridwatch

I was lucky enough to get the invite to represent the M100 in the convoy Lotus put together to drive around a small part of West London and as a static show for the bigwigs as they arrived for their presentation at the big 7PM reveal. Was great fun. Amazing what impact 12 yellow Lotus cars (all different models) have on the public in London. Everyone stops and gapes and a paparazzi style wall of phones go up to capture our progress on video. The big draw for me was a private viewing of the Evija earlier in the afternoon. Awesome looking in the carbon fibre - those sculptural tunnels at the back - just wow!



Oh and MJK was there and reportedly loved the car...

Range of 250 miles and full charge in 10 minutes… at a 350kW charging point. So fine if you live within 125 miles of Maidstone which has the only 350kW charging station in the UK.

I read 'Full charge in 17 minutes at 350kW charger'. As an Electrical Power Engineer it seems strange that electric power is being quoted in HP when we talk Megawatts, or Kilowatts for small stuff. 2000hp is 1,491kW. If it charges at 350kW for 10 minutes that's 350 x 10/60 kwh input (at 100% charge efficiency, which it will not achieve) so 58 kWhrs input, 17 minutes achieves 99 kWhrs. Let's assume charge is about 100 kWhrs, then the powerpack can deliver 1,491kW for an impressive 4 minutes before it is exhausted..

There is an interesting vid on Youtube BMW i8 . After 3 years on lease the BMW i8 batteries are knackered and only have a fraction of the declared range. Wonder what the Lotus 3 year after sales service will be ... hasn't been impressive for the Evora !

M100 will still be quickest cross country - you'll pass the Evija having a recharge for sure..
