Elans do stay in your mind, don't they! Glad to see you could come full circle and find us all waiting for your return. Congratulations!

Thanks guys - good to see all the old familiar names still on here :D going to pick up BFG tomorrow - going straight to paint shop to sort our a few bits where the lacquer has lifted over the years - will post a few pics when this is done - yes these cars do get under your skin which is why I couldn't resist the opportunity when David said he was considering selling the car - for a 28 year old car the design of the Elan can still hold it's own and surpass many modern equivalents and David has improved it with so many upgrades :D the provenance is backed up with a huge history file dating back to when it was new and still has the original toolkit , first aid box etc and all the original handbooks etc and of course it's a Lotus :D :D :D

First aid kit?
Do you really mean that or did you make it up to give Trevor something else to search for?

Its a band. Who carries a complete band in his Elan?
This proves that our tiny car is actually a lorry

Haha - I kid you not ! it's a small white box with a red cross hidden behind the passenger seat - David showed it to me and I remeber it being there when I owned the car

been out in BFG a few times - reminded of the road holding prowess these cars have despite how old they are :D reckon they like being used - initially there was a bit of stuttering on acceleration - with a tank full of fresh petrol and a bit of spirited driving everything seems to have settled down and car runs smooth :D the starter problem experienced by David in France seems to have righted itself - starts evrerytime ( famous last words - better not push my luck ! )

Booked in to paint shop in a couple of weeks to complete the odd bits that need doing - car will be virtually pristine when this is done - David has really looked after it over the years - even the interior is blemish free and in the original red / black leather :D

Glad to hear you’re out and about in her Tony :D I filled her up in Belgium and on the run back to Calais in convoy with 2 Exiges there was an occasional stutter so I wonder if the fuel was to blame. But then we were, “ahem” pushing on a bit to get the train and in general she performed beautifully as usual. The Evora is back in Southampton having some warranty work done so my plan to have more “Lotus” time is not working out as planned!
Enjoy yourself and I’ll be round to see the new paint in the autumn.

Hi John
Supplying dealer was Frosts of Chichester so yours has migrated north a little :D
My....sorry Gov’s still has the original front number plate with their logo.
