American 16” Wheels

Just a general but why did the American cars have 16”s fitted? Must admit I do like the look of them. I ve S2’s fitted and just had them re furbed and look the part but I do like the American wheels

I also like the Federal alloys Kris, I’ve only seen one car fitted with them in the Uk before. Honestly I didn’t notice they were 16” until you pointed it out
