Everest chip fitted. But no gains?

Ok so before I fitted the everest chip.the car was boosting around .75 on the gauge with piper exhaust 2.1/4 and Watergate ported so fitted the everest chip.but there has been no gain in performance.or boost.checked boost solenoid etc no leaks. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you already had an everest chip to me.
I don't see why anyone would have ported the wastegate (which is done to avoid boost creep) with a standard chip? Having said that, .75 boost seems too high for standard to me, I thought it was nearer .5, but one of those in the know will be along soon with the correct info no doubt.

Is this on an S2? If so, your set up (everest, port, 2.25 piper) is the same as mine and the difference between std and this is 40 to 50 bhp and very noticeable. The only other difference is that I have a Pre-Cat Eliminator and sports cat in the exhaust which obviously will improve gas flows - indeed if your pre-cat has started to break down then that alone could stifle any gains.

Good luck with it. A rolling road session may be needed to see where you actually are...

there was a kilimanjaro chip that was also available with less boost........
it could have been that chip........

There was no other chip fitted.untill I fitted the everest chip. Not sure how accurate the standard boost gauge is?but when I fitted the everest chip didn't see no performance gains at all. Just same boost reading

Probably would be good to provide some info: Where did you get the Everest Chip? Did the ECM already have a GREEN adapter board and chip installed? If NOT, did you get a GREEN adapter board with the Everest Chip?

A few pictures might make it easier to answer.

Of course, your Wastegate could be seized and until it is working, the boost range will not change.

Bought the everest chip off the shop off this forum.
It came with the green adapter board.
Will post pics of the ecu

It would also be useful to see some pictures of the small-bore pipes to your BSV and turbo wastegate control capsule to check that they’re connected correctly.

As Gareth mentioned, Elanscan readings would be useful for diagnosis also.

Check carefully that the wastegate is actually working correctly so you can eliminate this from the possibilities.

I'm fairly sure you can check if the wastegate capsule is also working correctly with the use of a bicycle pump. Phil ?

might help to add where you are in the world so someone local with an elanscan laptop could get in touch to assist if you havent got access.

On the subject of freeing the wastegate there is a wiki article about complete removal of heat shield and capsule to free it up but being honest after removing 2 of the 3 bolts to the wastegate actuator i thought sod this for a game of soldiers as there was no way they were going back together without a lot of blood / swearing / raging (just me and me big pinkies) and so for all the time ive owned the car ive always used these long nose long handled pliers from snapon - they dont slip on the shaft and due to the length of the pliers i can force the actuator rod fully across its horizontal travel by pivoting from above. once freed up i force the rod over to the left and hold it there whilst with the other hand i give it a squirt of aerosol copper grease onto the bit of shaft that is normally inside the capsule just to keep things lubricated a bit that end

I use the same technique, but different pliers.
Works like charm indeed!

However i don't use any grease as it tends to seize up due to temperature induced decomposition...

One strong argument against is that, because of the extreme temperatures involved, most lubricants will degrade rapidly which may cause the wastegate to stick again and may even carbonise which can cause excessive wear.
