Paper clip and Elan scan, via Geoff's cable work great on the Elan. which is why it's a keeper for me

Are you sure? I would say it's probably illegal, isn't it? (I mean, as for the basic/standard stuff, not the lotus specific info).
Is it not a standard OBD plug? (apparently it is
https://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f170/e ... ery-97580/ but they don't talk about the software)
Isn't there a CEL flash code with a wire to ground somewhere? What a shame :/
So unfortunately the Evora will be going up for sale shortly. Currently I'm looking for a Gallardo to replace it.
I was about to say it was a pity but on the other hand, a Gallardo is probably not a bad car either

I can read and reset the normal codes for the engine with my scanner but any of the EOBD codes like air bag, etc seem to be a total mystery. I drove around for 2 years with the air bag light on as my battery went flat whilst on holiday. Luckily someone on Lotus talk figured out that a Foxwell ABS Airbag scanner will reset the code if you list it as a Daewoo, but will not tell you the reason for the fault.
I have a friend here that has a high end scanner that works on a lot of high end sports cars and he said that his computer can read just about any cars except the Evora. I contacted Lotus in the UK, who put me in touch with the Lotus dealer in Abu Dhabi and they recommended taking it to a Mercedes dealer that have the Bosch KTS system? apparently this would work.
Unfortunately the Merc dealer here will not work on any cars that are not a Mercedes.
We used to have a Lotus dealer for a few years and my Evora is the only one they ever sold in Bahrain. I asked them to fix the Air con and had to give them the Lotus service and repair manual of how to do it ????
If I was back in the UK that purple 410 looks high on the list
Would love the purple McLarren that passed through the airport here a few weeks ago,but way out of my price range.
