Hello from a happy new owner of a Lotus Elan

Hi All,
I am a happy new owner of a Lotus Elan in Northern Germany, Flensburg
I got it from a guy who had taken out the engine, then he passed away, RIP.
Having left no info about what goes where and no manuals... we started to assemble the puzzle
With some very talented friends, we managed to get the Engine back in!
but are left with some questions...
I hope to find the answers in the topics already written up, but if not, I hope some of you Elan owners might know the answers
I will be back tomorrow

The important question is WHY did he remove the engine? Did he fix his problem?

No, he did not fix the problem, we did , at least what we knew of...
-the car was not running for many years so the engine block had marks, which we got drilled out and new larger pistons has been added.
The engine starts
at the moment, I think some sort of alarm system (??) is preventing it from driving, but I didn't get a key for that...
there is on the dash board, (button number 28, on the LHD) which is mentioned in the owners manual p7 that it is a blank switch, there is a little yellow light built in
-anyone knows what that is for?
at the moment the windscreen wipers are not moving
and the hazard warning light is not working either

It looks like your M100 is not quite stock.
It is possible to remove the entire alarm (and replace, if you must).
Looks like ou're on the right path to cruise your M100 this spring!
