Vacuum pipes - identification

Can anyone tell me what I have here please...
Pipe on right comes from manifold and goes nowhere
Pipe on left comes out of the central part of bulkhead into the engine bay, it's a smaller diameter than one on the right.
There is no one way valve
Heater direction controls not working

I would guess they are the vacuum pipes for the heater controls. Remove the wheel arch liner on the passenger side and you will see a vacuum tank (3-4" diameter ball). It should have one pipe in from the manifold, one pipe out to the airflow direction control. I think there's a one way valve in one of the connectors.

Also check out the diagrams in the WSM, 4 or 6 position as appropriate.

Thanks that's a good help. the wheel arch liner and maybe the bumper's coming off soon to sort out the N/S sidelamp not working (Trapped or broken wire). I can do it all at the same time when I have SORN'd the car at the end of this month.

Any idea what the small pipe on the left is?
