I don't envisage any problems with the BB though. My emissions are the lowest I've ever seen on an Elan and the rest of the car is in top condition as you know, apart from the A pillar sponges, so looking forward to your shiny, black rubber onesie

PS The Yellow Peril sailed through its MOT today :burnout:

No problem Mark, whenever suits you. ;-)

Hi Natefred, Sorry for the late reply, I have not been doing much Elan stuff since Autumn really, been focusing on other projects. I have started doing some more sets of the combined seals though, and hopefully will get most folks who need them sorted out, I should be able to do a few over the next couple of months.

The latest ones have some minor updates and I think these are probably the best ones yet, all of the glass edge is tucked under a well pronounced lip along with the back edge of the glass contacting a good soft closed cell EPDM it's about as watertight as it's possible to get I think.

Some pictures of the latest ones taken today when we had a fleeting visit from that big yellow orb, an unusual visitor over central Scotland at this time of year (or any time of year for that matter!) :D .

you wont hear back from Jamie untill the weekend. I have been chatting with him for the past 2 months regularly due to some dificulties installing very early versions (from 5 or 6 years ago) of he's intermediate and B pillar seals.
I have the header seal refered in this thread, bought it a year ago and its currently being fitted in my car. its worth noting this is a really good fit , but because of the nature of the elan being handmade, you may find the need to adjust the A Pillar rails in order to make the perfect fit.
Make sure you have at least a full weekend available for this, the longer you have the better, because if you are unlucky and need to adjust the rails like myself, you may find that steel screws galvanised into aluminium can be a huge PITA, I have broken many drill bits when adjusting the driver's side, and have not looked into the passenger side yet.

in the next week i will probably post on facebook the end result, as im finally very close to done with mine.
Still learning

Well done, Joao, I’m still tinkering with mine (which I think are the same development version as yours). Did you get the falling pillar seals as well and, if so, how easy did you find it to get those fasteners out?

Hi Jaime,
I thought I will give this a try again.

Is there a possibility of my being able to buy a Header/A-pillar seal from you ?

I tried a few years ago but was not able to establish communication with you.

Thanks,

SW
