Good morning folks


My name's Jason. I just got my pacific blue Elan 91, 2 days ago from the States, to join my Suzuka blue S2K. As much as I am in love, I am also disappointed by lots of things, starting by the fact transport company seemed that she damaged the car during transport. Plus a closer look to the paint shows defects while weren't reflected in the the picture... car also needs power steerimg pump (was aware of that before purchase) and couple of other replacement parts..so working on these...will post picture and hopefully will get your help and tips guys!

Haha, yeah, it has taken me a while too to find a method that works best for me.
I bet others have different advice too, but here is what I know.

The easiest/cheapest way is to just post a link from dropbox or google photos, etc. where you may have your images, but then people are clicking around off the site and can't see the images directly in the post; and permissions may be a problem, or the link may change over time, etc.

If you want your images to be shown directly in the post, you can upload them directly to LEC, but the max dimension (usually width) has to be 640 pixels or less.
You can do this on a Mac using the built in Preview app. Open your image > Tools > Adjust size > select 640 or less across the longest dimension and save. There may also be a setting to keep aspect ratio, which you want, otherwise it will be squished.
On a PC you can use the built in Paint app. Open image > Image > Resize > By Pixel > select 640 or less across the longest dimension and save. There may also be a setting to keep aspect ratio, which you want, otherwise it will be squished.
You may have a better dedicated photo program you use on your computer too, but principles are the same.

Now you are ready to add images to your post. When you are making a post, scrolling down below the text entry box and the Save/Preview/Submit controls there is a blue area with tabs for Options/Upload attachment. Upload attachment > Filename: 'Choose file' > Select the file you want in the pop-up window > Be sure to then click 'Add the File'.
Screen will refresh and now your file should show up below the text entry box, but above the Save/Preview/Submit buttons. Click 'Place inline' if you want it to show up where your cursor is in the content you are typing in the text entry box, or do nothing and the image will be appended to the bottom of your post. Benefit is that images should be persistent with the post, as long as the post survives. Downside is that the image quality isn't the greatest.

If you want better quality images to show in your post, you will need the images to be hosted somewhere else first. Some folks have their own private servers, but if you are reading this, it probably isn't you . A free alternative is imgur.com. Note of caution is that folks have used various free sites over the past 20 years, but few have persisted, so some quality images have been lost to the ravages of time. If you think it will be really helpful for a fellow troubleshooter in the future, think about uploading to LEC; if you just want to show your ride, then hosted off site is fine. I feel like imgur is constantly changing their flow, so I don't think I can give as specific step by steps, but the main thing is that once your photo has been uploaded (at any size), you are looking for 'Share links' which may be buried in a hover menu under three dots ... or somewhere else. You want the "BBCode (Forums)" style link. And if you just paste that in your post, the image will show inline, wherever you have that link. When you go to Preview your post, you should see the image. If you feel it is too big, you can add little modifier letters into the link to change how it will show up.
For example ['img]https://i.imgur.com/aCdVtH4.jpg [/'img]will show up at the size I uploaded it. I can add an S to make it small, M for medium, L for large, just before the '.jpg' like this: ['img]https://i.imgur.com/aCdVtH4m.jpg[/'img] When you Preview your post again, you should see a difference. Play around with whatever you think looks best.
P.S. Once you learn to do this method, you can also probably figure out how to start making youtube videos and posting them directly in your posts too. Happy imaging!
