Hi everyone,
A while ago I got in touch with solty909 (Peter Soltysiak) about a new rear damper he said he had available, but I never followed up because I moved to France. He did reply back then, but he's not replied to my recent contact, does anyone on the forum know him or know how to get in touch?
I did do a web search and found obituaries for people with his name, but I find this is fairly normal with any web search unless the person is famous so I didn't want to jump to any conclusions. If anyone knows that there is sad news then please pass on my (our) condolences.
Thanks,
Will

Unfortunately I think you might be right Will.
Peter Soltysiak and solty909 are linked in a
chess website so his middle initial appears to be
S and linked to Sussex and there was only one
Peter S Soltysiak born in the UK in 1950.
This does appear to be his obituary unfortunately.

With detective work like that, Bungling Boris will be signing you up for Track and Trace Geoff

Hi Geoff,
Thanks for the detective work. Based on the posted photos
thisappears to be his Facebook profile and the location information (felpham) appears to confirm that that is probably his obituary. I also found
this.
Ah well, sad news.
I had intended to buy the rear damper from him and send to Nitron for dyno comparison against their rear dampers so we'd know the setting which matched closest to stock. I think that getting in touch with his family to ask about this would be a bit like grave-robbing so I don't think I'll follow it up.
Looks like his Elan hasn't been sold though (I'll let those of you who are interested work that one out).

Actually, I refound in my correspondence with him hat he had sold the Elan several years ago but still had this damper as it was never fitted.

I would ask the family if he was a true M100 adept.
If i would move myself in their position I would be happy that his M100 parts found a good home.
Then again, people all behave differently
