Good afternoon
I have a bit of an issue been going on for about a year on start up it’s a lottery if I have dash lights or not. Car starts up straight away and no running concerns but Rev counter does not work if there is no dash lights by this I mean no cel light , battery light etc can drive of down the road it might work come on for a while then go back to zero. If I move dash clocks around with ignition on the lights will come on then
Next time I use the car back to no lights / Rev counter help needed doing my head in

I would start by checking and cleaning all the relevant earthing points

there are 2 big connectors behind the gauges. one in a piece of sponge and one beneath it. check both of those particularly the earth as Rambo mentioned. Earthing point 2 is really hard to get to so it is easier to do resistance checks between wires going to it.
