Part number for MEM-CAL for S2

Does any one know the Lotus part number for the MEM-CAL for an S2

I thought that by buying an updated MEM-CAL and an O2 sensor at the same time from a well know Lotus dealer selling parts for our cars I would get sent the correct one.

Turns out I seem to know more than him in my short ownership of the Elan. All I got back was that was what you ordered and he knows nothing about which version is needed.

If I give him the part number he can order it which I suspect will cost me the same again with having to send mine in for the exchange.

I'm not sure that the memcal has a part number itself - it is (obviously!) included in the ECU, and that has various part numbers dependent on the car/market it was aimed at.

Page 17.06A of the parts book will show you the options, and for the UK S2 you will need the 'USA - 49 states' version.

The memcal PROM ID is 1499 if that helps........

That's what I quoted and it went straight over his head.

On the plus side I should be able to get the CO down for it's MOT with a 9930 prom, but it would be nice to put the O2 sensor in that I have.

I have had to buy a bung for now as I took the old one out and it nearly sheered in half.

You can get a whole ECM including the 1499 Memcal under part number A100E6533F - Current price is 134.15 + VAT on DeRoure, assuming there are some left in stock.
I have one on my car as part of a closed loop upgrade and it works a treat!

If you sell off the old ECM you may even make a profit!

The new ECU with closed loop MEM-CAL arrived today.

Working at home with all the bits to upgrade to closed loop but not being able to until it gets dark will mean it will have to wait.

Noticed you have just been changing to closed loop with the ECU and I wondered where you got the new chip.

I swapped my original 9929 last year to the 9930 and managed to reduce the CO to about 2% but after the winter lay up period cant get bellow 6%. I've tried new petrol .

Last year I swapped the IAC and had the injectors cleaned and balanced and it all seemed to help . If I change to closed loop it removes the CO Pot. from the equation .

When I try the link to the Everest chip on the website I just get an out of stock message- I wondered if you found a supplier somewhere .

The Everest chip is no more as the originator has stopped doing it and the source of the daughter board it was mounted on has dried up.

The only option I found was to purchase a complete ECU for the S2 with the correct memcal in it. This was still available from Lotus dealers as per my previous post in this thread.
