Just popping by to say hi, I'm likely to be loitering here for the foreseeable future, I've just agreed to buy a very well known Orange Elan M100......

Hi Mark,
Welcome to the main bit of LEC.
There is plenty written on here about the work done on the Orange Elan (it actually has a name of "Missy" - but that may or may not continue under your ownership).
There are a few things which need sorting out, but it is definitely one of the ones worth doing, and has had an awful lot of work/improvements done ove the years by the mad scotsman.

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

The plan would be to get it running reliably in the first instance, then treat it as a running restotation

Hi callmelegend, welcome to the forum, I’ve only been here for 4 years and found it invaluable for information so I searched for “missy” , interesting reading about the history and background to the car and owner .
Good luck with the restoration, any photos of when you picked it up

So much catching up to do, that Mark (CallMeLegend) is selling or has now sold his car! A few of the various bits he had made for group buys available on ebay or FB.

Quote from FB dated 7th Dec
You all know how much work I've put into Missy so far. She's nearly ready for the MOT.However, I no longer have access to a garage and she deserves to be kept inside.
Would there be any interest in her at £4.5k
Subsequently sold before Xmas I believe.

What a pity. Mark put such a lot into Tango. I could've offered her a good home up here if only I'd known. But I don't do FB shite

And I'm sure you have plenty of room at your stables in Malvern John

I've had my head behind a mask and apparently living under a rock. Finally took a bit of vacation/holiday between Christmas and New Years and am slowly catching up. Not doing a good job, either, because I knew the orange beauty had received a lot of work and gone to a new home. I thought this thread was the new owner's!
I'll just get me coat...
