This may be a bit of an off the wall request......

.... does anyone know anywhere that I could get a new windshield for a Yamaha Dragstar..... I don't want to pay any more than 250 Euros though, otherwise I'd be beating a path to Konrads' door.



(On a serious note, the scammers are entering a first post which is something like what we may expect for a 'foreigner' - feigning genuine interest, but with slightly lacking command of the English language (much like the rest of us!!!!)....... and after it is approved and published, they come back and edit it to add the scam/spam bit to the post).

For a bit of 'background' information (just so people don't think that we are letting them in for fun!), every 'first post' has to be approved by a Moderator before going live....

..... I would think that probably 99% of scams/spams are spotted at that time and simply deleted (usually with the account being blocked if it is so obvious).

*If* a mod who sees the first post isn't totaly convinced by its veracity, then it can be simply left in the 'in tray' for someone else to look at and approve - so any dodgy ones have gone through a couple of pairs of eyes before getting seen in public.

The problem comes because we like to be an open forum, who welcomes everyone.... just because the post doesn't contain a photo or two and is written in perfect English, we won't prevent it's apearance.

Once it is out there, the spammer can simply return a day or two later and edit the published post..... and this may be the first time we are aware of the problem.

So far we have been lucky (or at least, our process appears to be robust enough) and have had a few annoying/entertaining twats get through.... but nothing particularly offensive or upsetting.

.... And I thought it was because they had given up trying to resize the photos in order to post them. There's a thought for a good filter - make it mandatory for the first post to contain a photo; they'll never get through!
