I am presently having an alarm problem and would like to know how to disable the immobiliser in an emergency, and where it is 'could someone PM me please.
Is there an alarm system that will replace the Gemini and be reliable. apologies for the any hassle I am causing , will payback during my time on LEC
Well . . . Several points here:
ElanScan, while it’s well worth having and using, won’t give you any information on the alarm system or immobiliser.
On the SE (and NA), the alarm was an optional dealer fit extra (assuming no-one has fitted an aftermarket alarm). All S2s had a Gemini Aquila 5160T alarm/immobiliser as a factory fit. So it depends which model of car you have as to where the control unit is and what steps you take.
I don’t post details of the alarm systems on the open forum for obvious reasons. If you confirm that the email address in your profile is correct, I can send you some information on the alarms relating to both models of car.
As to what to replace it with, I’ve stripped the OEM alarm out of my S2 and replaced it with a Toad Ai606T2. It has full remote control including door locking, and works fine. However, there are now more modern alarm/immobiliser combinations available. Unless you are really handy with automotive electrics, I’d recommend you approach a reputable alarm fitter and see what he/she recommends.
By the way, if you have a specific problem, it helps to put your location in your profile; there may be a member local to you who can help. Click on User Control Panel at the top of the page, then Edit Profile and add something in the Location box

Hope this helps
