Fitted a Piper 2.25 exhaust with two silencers then went out fearing the worst . Boost went to just short of 1bar , revs to 7k on the flat and uphill in both high and low gears ............nothing happened , ran perfectly ,. Can anyone explain why some cars overboost while others don't ?

Can you pick my lottery numbers for this weekend please?
Two possible reasons, and there may be more:
1 The waste gate has already been ported.
2 it's less likely to happen with a 2¼" pipe than a 2½"
I have a 2¼ Powerflow exhaust and have never suffered over boost. But there again I don't know if it was ported before I bought the car!
Others no doubt will be along with other reasons.

I have never suffered overboost with any of the 3 exhausts I've fitted (Cybox, Piper, PNM) on 3 different cars. No wastegate porting on any of them

BTW, the winning numbers for this w/e are 2, 6, 10, 12, 15 and 29

Geoff, seriously….
I had to read this 10 times out loud before i got it
It is the same when our Belgian friend Ivo talks, only that is real-time, so even harder.
Damn, it is time for a beer together!
