Whilst this may not be the source of your problem, I'd recommend you change all 4 asap, for peace of mind, if nothing else. Michelin, Pirelli, Goodyear, Yokohama, Toyo... you won't go far wrong
PS are you sure your brakes aren't binding ie caliper stuck on one side ?

I have old (and hard) tires on mine and the only reason I haven't replaced them is because I don't drive at 150KM/h any more and I am selling the car - leaving the choice of rubber up to the new owner.

Yes, but do you stop on a straight line? Or does it dive violently to one side?
